Manhattan Award Program Honors the Achievement

MANHATTAN November 25, 2012 — Le Salon East has been selected for the 2012 Best of Manhattan Award in the Hair Coloring category by the Manhattan Award Program.

Each year, the Manhattan Award Program identifies companies that we believe have achieved exceptional marketing success in their local community and business category. These are local companies that enhance the positive image of small business through service to their customers and our community. These exceptional companies help make the Manhattan area a great place to live, work and play.

Various sources of information were gathered and analyzed to choose the winners in each category. The 2012 Manhattan Award Program focuses on quality, not quantity. Winners are determined based on the information gathered both internally by the Manhattan Award Program and data provided by third parties.

As makeup artists and [...]]]> Recently, Team Le Salon East had the distinct honor of creating the hair design for up and coming designer Jose Duran’s show on the opening night of Fashion Week.

With an hour before the show’s start time and models still arriving from shows all over town, the atmosphere backstage was frantic. As makeup artists and manicurists dodging in between stylists, our team crimped and pinned in a frenzy. Re-creating  the complex look on each model was a challenge but Team Le Salon East, worked with the differing types of hair and face shapes to create a streamlined look.

The chosen design was part French twist, part beehive, and completely in step with the tribal-yet-futuristic feel of Jose Duran’s collection. Called in a few days before Fashion Week began, the editorial team from Le Salon East had a short period of time to view the 44 looks and create one style that would not only compliment but enhance the designs.

Team Le Salon East had a great time and would like to thank our co-sponsors, Alfaparf Milano as well as the Berit Group for making this show possible.

We will be spending the afternoon over at Columbus Circle, prepping models and taking in the scene. Accordingly, Le Salon East will be closed at 5:30 today, but we will be back  in full swing [...]]]> Le Salon East is getting ready for our big Fashion Week premiere tonight at the Jose Duran Spring/Summer 2011 show. We will be spending the afternoon over at Columbus Circle, prepping models and taking in the scene.

Accordingly, Le Salon East will be closed at 5:30 today, but we will be back  in full swing tomorrow!

Keep an eye out for tales from backstage, exclusive photos, and more! And check out Jose Duran’s previous collections – hailed as the next McQueen, this Dominican-born Paris-based designer is definitely up and coming. We couldn’t be more excited to create the hairstyles for tonight’s show.
